In English this half term, we will be writing persuasive letters and newspaper reports inspired by the events of ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. Then we will be writing our own descriptive narratives based on the fantastic picture book, ‘The Lost Thing’ by Shaun Tan.

In science, we will be investigating states of matter - solids, liquids and gases. We will be classifying different materials and exploring how they can change states.

In maths, we will be continuing to follow our Maths No Problem scheme. We will be focusing on multiplication and division this half term. We will be developing our recall of multiplication facts and then using written methods to multiply and divide two- and three-digit numbers.

In history, we will be learning about the Anglo-Saxons. We will start our unit with an afternoon of special activities and will find out where the Anglo-Saxons came from and why they came to Britain.  Then, we will explore Anglo-Saxon culture, life and beliefs.
